Yootech Wireless Charger Review:

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Solid performance

Cons

  • No wall adapter included

Wired charging is becoming a thing of the past and Wireless Charging coming to the forefront, it’s time to look at some of the wireless charging solutions that are available. One of the most popular wireless charging solutions is the Yootech Wireless Charger.

Yootech is one of those companies that you can rely on to deliver a product that is worthy of the name. Their products are designed to make life easier, they are simple to use, and they are generally made from high-quality materials.

The charger has been designed to support all of the Qi wireless charging standards, which is a good thing, as it means that it is compatible with nearly every smartphone and tablet that is Qi-compatible.

Yootech Wireless Charger Review: Features

  • A micro-USB port is provided.
  • No wall adapter is included.

Yootech Wireless Charger Review

Only the charging pad and a micro-USB cable are included in the box; you must provide your own wall adapter. The charging speed of this Qi-standard pad is influenced by what you combine it with: While the charger can charge at up to 10W, it can only do so with the correct wall wart.

The pad, for example, will charge at 5W using a conventional wall adapter (such as the one that comes with an iPhone). You’ll need a Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0 wall adapter to obtain 7.5W or 10W charging speeds.

Some Android phone owners may already have one, but iPhone fans will need to purchase an appropriate wall adapter to speed up charging, which will add to the overall cost of this wireless charging system.

Yootech Wireless Charger Review: Design

  • Portable
  • Two rubber cushions are available.
  • Lightweight

The charger is somewhat broader than an iPhone X, so it requires a little more accuracy than other pads while placing your phone on it. Keep an eye out for the light along the bottom of the pad, which will turn on for a few seconds if the phone is properly positioned. Two rubber cushions on top of the pad keep your phone from sliding around while it charges.

Yootech Wireless Charger Review: Performance

  • Can charge up to 10W
  • Fast charging

Yootech Wireless Charger Review

When it came to charging our Android test phone, a Samsung Galaxy S9, the Yootech Wireless Charger couldn’t quite keep up with the competition. Our Galaxy S9 took an average of 3 hours and 27 minutes (207 minutes) to fully charge, with the best pads charging it in under three hours.

Despite this, it outperformed significantly more expensive competitors, such as the Mophie Charge Stream Pad+ ($60), which had an average charge time of 3 hours and 43 minutes, and the Belkin BoostUp Wireless Charging Pad for Samsung ($60), which had an average charge time of 4 hours and 46 minutes. After 60 minutes, the Yootech came in near the bottom of the pack, with an average charge of 31 percent.

Having said that, our wireless charger results for our iPhone X currently range between 30 and 36 percent, so you might find that saving as much as $45 by buying the Yootech is worth the trade-off.

In conclusion

The Yootech Wireless Charger is a great option if you’re looking for a low-cost wireless charger that performs what it’s supposed to do (though a little slower than some of its competitors).
