Fomako NDI PTZ Camera: Video production

  • Excellent video quality
  • No image distortion
  • Superb night image capability

Fomako NDI PTZ Camera

I’ve tested the FoMaKo 20x PTZ camera and can attest to its exceptional features and quality for video creation. It offers excellent video quality with full HD resolutions of 1080p and 1080i at 60FPS, just like other leading live-streaming PTZ cameras.

The 20x zoom range of the camera does have an impact on the photographs’ quality. However, this only occurs if you zoom in all the way. I positioned the camera at the far end of the big hall and zoomed in; until I got close to the 20x mark, I didn’t detect any quality degradation.

The nighttime images are also not awful. We can cover evening events without dealing with digital noise because of the camera’s 2D/3D noise reduction and strong signal-to-noise ratio. You can be confident in capturing high-quality videos thanks to the FoMaKo PTZ camera’s superb zoom, pan, tilt, and autofocus features.

With its wide-angle lens, the FoMaKo 20x-SDI camera can record more. It also has the advantage of quiet movement and customizable pan and tilt speed. You can choose from 10 settings with the remote controller. There are, however, around 255 degrees of pan and tilt settings on the camera.

Video compression with H.265 and 264 is supported by the FoMaKo camera. Additionally, MP3, G.711A, and AAC audio compression are supported. I give the camera a 10/10 for its fantastic video-producing tools.

Fomako NDI PTZ Camera: Connection types

  • Supports PELCO P/D and VISCA control protocols.
  • Supports live streaming using 3G-SD1 HDMI cables.

The PTZ camera may be powered, controlled, and streamed in high-definition audio and video using a Power over Ethernet connection. The camera supports live streaming using 3G-SDI HDMI cables in addition to PoE capability.

The GB/T28181 protocol, which aids in connecting various systems, as well as the RTMP and RTSP protocols, which direct the transfer of data between communication systems, are supported.

Physical communication protocols including RS422, 485, and 232 are supported by FoMaKo. Additionally, it supports PELCO P/D and VISCA control protocols, enabling PTZ-camera control.

My score for the type of connection provided is 10/10 because of all the connectivity choices.

Fomako NDI PTZ Camera: Setup

  • Easy to setup
  • Simple configuration

Make sure the camera’s network is connected to your device’s IP address before configuring the camera. But first, use a PoE Switch or a power connection to power your FoMaKo 20x-SD. Use an Ethernet cable to make control with PoE possible.

Next, link your camera to your home router. Additional cameras can be added if you choose. Furthermore, an HDMI cable can be used to connect the camera to your television. You can see recordings in real-time with this configuration.

My score for the setup process is 8/10 because it’s not too difficult for beginners to set up the network.

The Verdict

The FoMaKo 20x-SDI camera is a great alternative for your video coverage of any event you wish to plan. This camera has all the features you require, along with strong communication choices. Many would choose it because of its full HD recording quality and capacity to magnify far-off objects, earning it a solid 8.5/10 overall.
