Reviews from customer’s
This is my third purchase of the Cisco RV325. In a home or small business environment, these are primarily used as firewalls and master switches. Except for a few specific apps, you must use a VPN to access the network outside. This works perfectly. I recently updated the firmware, and since then, the routers have been up and running without issue for over 60 days. –Brin from the United States
It has been working great for me for several months now. This device replaced the Cisco ASA5505 and Cisco 8-port Small Business Switch. Overall, I am pleased with the device. I only wish this switch had a command-line interface as well as a web interface.
However, the web interface for this router/VPN/switch is much easier to use than some of their other small business switches. I have 3 different Cisco switches for small businesses that all use web interfaces, and the one with this router/VPN/switch is much more user-friendly. -Kelvin from Denmark
Cisco RV345 Dual WAN Gigabit VPN Router: Reason to buy or avoid
|The device performs well under simple configurations.
|Firstly, I should mention that I am a former CCNA and current security professional with arguably high expectations for the device’s manageability. Many of my critiques could be answered by the manufacturer with “the feature was never promised as part of the product.” These concerns are still valid.
|It’s much better than the typical consumer router.
|The device I am writing about is both a router and a switch; to argue that it is merely a router and not a switch might provide a straightforward, if inadequate, defense for other critiques.
|My non-scientific test of a private node connected over the Internet to a speed test server achieved > 600Mbps. It supports IPv6 and VLANs.
Overall, this is a great product. If you are looking for a really powerful and affordable solution for your needs, then the Cisco RV345 is for you. I will be testing it out in the field with a few clients over the coming weeks to see how it performs in the real world. I’ll be sharing my findings here on the blog. If you have any questions about it, please let me know in the comments below. I’ll be happy to answer them.
